To make your planning and preparations a little bit easier I have listed below an essential checklist that will help you start the countdown to your big day!

Please note that these tips are just a guideline and not everything will be appropriate to your big day as all weddings vary in size. This is just a guide to help you in the run up to your big day to put everything in its relevant order.

First Duties

Speak with your chosen parish priest
Set that all important date
Discuss and choose the wedding party. Bridesmaids, best man etc.
Compile a guest list

Look into organising the wedding outfits as soon as possible. Wedding dress, suit hire etc

6 Months Ahead

If you are planning on taking a honeymoon book it now if possible or pay deposit
Book transportation to the church if necessary
Book photography
Have the first fittings for your dress and those of your bridesmaids

3 Months Ahead

Order your wedding cake
Buy weddings rings
Speak to your priest with regards to your service in case you wish to print up booklets
Confirm reception details to Hotel if appropriate or confirm with caterers
Purchase presents for wedding party. Bridesmaids, best man, ushers, mother of bride etc
Speak to florist with regards to flowers

2 Months Ahead

Buy plenty of postage stamps and post your invitations

1 Month Ahead

Give final number of guests to hotel or caterers
Book final appointment at Hairdresser
Check on progress of all wedding clothes

Final Week

Have a rehearsal of wedding ceremony
Make final checks on catering, photographer, cake etc
Check all your wedding clothes

Arrange to have going away clothes and suitcases taken to reception venue
